Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
1. Who we are
Writ is a testimonial collection and display service operated as an independent product. When we say "Writ", "we", "us", or "our" we mean the operator of this service. By creating an account or using Writ, you agree to these terms.
2. Your account
You must provide a valid email address and keep your password secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use Writ.
You may not use Writ for any unlawful purpose, to harass or defame others, or to collect testimonials through deceptive means.
3. Testimonials and content
You are responsible for the testimonials you collect and publish. By approving a testimonial you confirm that it is genuine — that is, it reflects a real experience from a real client.
You grant Writ a limited licence to store and serve your testimonials solely to provide the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your content.
We may remove content that we determine, at our sole discretion, is fraudulent, illegal, or harmful.
4. Subscription and billing
Writ offers a free plan and paid plans (Pro, Business) billed monthly. Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout. Applicable taxes may be added depending on your location.
Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You can cancel at any time from your settings page — your subscription remains active until the end of the period you have paid for, after which it will not renew.
We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us and we will resolve it promptly.
We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. If you do not wish to continue at the new price you may cancel before the change takes effect.
5. Free plan limits
The free plan allows up to 5 approved testimonials and 1 collection page. If you reach these limits, new submissions will continue to arrive in your queue but you will not be able to approve additional testimonials until you upgrade.
6. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Writ available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
In the unlikely event that we shut down the service entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice and provide a way to export your data.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Writ is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability to you in connection with these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the service operator is established. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a notice in the dashboard. Continued use of Writ after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Contact
If you have questions about these terms, please reach out via the contact details on our about page.
